Polish Karaoke Show Contestant Wears Blackface To Imitate Kendrick Lamar
Polish singer Kuba Szmajkowski performed in Blackface and dropped the N-word during his performance.
Controversial talent show Your Face Sounds Familiar is back in the hot seat after one of its contestants performed in Blackface!
On the latest episode of the Polish show, its contestant singer/contestant Kuba Szmajkowski left the internet stunned after he dressed up in Blackface, rocking cornrows, and even went as far as to wear a leather outfit similar to the one Compton rapper wore.
“Piss out your per diem, you just gotta hate ’em, funk. If I quit your BM, I still ride Mercedes, funk. If I quit this season, I still be the greatest funk,” he recited the 2017 hit lyrics.
During his performance of “HUMBLE,” Szmajkowski dropped the N-word. He was cheered and received outstanding applause as he rapped along the track. However, once the clip made its rounds online, the rest of the world was furious and offended.
After being declared the episode’s winner, Szmajkowski disclosed that he would give his winnings to the Przysta Nadziei Foundation, a charity supporting children with cancer. For those unfamiliar with the competition show, eight individuals must perform a popular song and embody the artist to raise money for their preferred charities. And this isn’t the first time one of their contestants pulled a racist stunt.
In 2021, Polish actor Tomasz Ciachorowski channeled Kanye West while performing “Stronger.” He rocked an imitation of a Caesar haircut and wore an acid-washed jean vest, white shutter shades and a graphic t-shirt. Polish actress Pola Gonciarz appeared on Your Face Sounds Familiar and performed Beyonce’s hot song, “If I Were A Boy,” while dressed in Blackface.
The show’s shady trend raised the concerns and frustrations of Black people continuously being mocked for mere entertainment.
“Kendrick needs to file the nastiest copyright suit of all time. I’m talking not even able to say his name no more on some Voldemort sht,” a person tweeted.
Let’s see if Kendrick Lamar will decide to take any action against the show.
