Coming out of Mobile, Alabama’s is rising star Jay Montana who’s back with his latest music video to his single “Taking It Back”. This release ended a two-month hiatus that saw the productive youthful MC have some time off from releasing music, yet is presently back in project mode, hinting at a mixtape for the previous half a month now. “Taking It Back” features production from the architect of the Mobile sound, Al Geno, who can be credited maybe more than any other person with the acoustic-controlled instrumentals that his city's sound has become inseparable from.
This is perhaps Montana's best execution yet as a singer and lyricist and bands the whole track with shrewd bars and contemplative verses, and the director and editor, Shifty, worked hard rejuvenating the visual by featuring a portion of the track's most noteworthy verses inside the video. Shifty is ostensibly the most invigorating new videographer in the Atlanta scene, blasting onto everybody's radar two- or three-months shooting recordings because of his incredible result and meticulousness.
