On Friday, B-Lovee dropped what might just be the first Bronx drill love song with “My Everything” - a Cash Cobain produced masterpiece built around a flipped sample of Mary J Blige’s “Everything” already Trending on YouTube. Check out the video for B-Lovee’s “My Everything” below, produced by Cash Cobain - and be on the lookout for one of the Bronx’s rising stars
“My Everything” is a hugely compelling song, somehow perfectly combining a soulful, Mary J. Blige sample with B-Lovee’s gritty bars and aggressive cadence to create a one-of-a-kind pop sounding drill track with broad crossover appeal outside of the die-hard drill fanbase. Thanks in large part to the skillful, bouncy production from Cash Cobain (NYC drill’s undisputed ‘Sample God’), “My Everything” has the potential to be B-Lovee’s biggest (and least offensive) song yet.
The crisp, straightforward Spike Tarantino-directed visual depicts B-Lovee entering the function in true R&B music video fashion - before he and his leading lady slide in the Lambo, chill in the BnB, and take in the view from Pebble beach on the roof of a Bronx apartment complex.
“My Everything” continues the trend of B-Lovee flipping classic, non-rap hits into unique, hugely compelling drill beats you won’t find anywhere else - with “Neaky” sampling Gyptian’s iconic “Hold You”, or “IYKYK” sampling Wayne Wonder’s “No Letting Go”. A testament to the success of these creative choices, the surprisingly chill-natured drill track “IYKYK” is B-Lovee’s biggest track to date with over 7.9M YouTube views and 3.6M Spotify streams - which may actually make it the biggest Bronx drill song in existence.
B-Lovee - and his close collaborators Kay Flock and Dougie B - have been the faces of Bronx drill ever since dropping their viral breakout hit “Brotherly Love” early this year. B-Lovee has consistently shined with a constant stream of quality, diverse sounding singles, producing some of the hottest NYC songs of 2021. If “My Everything” is any clue at what’s to come, it’s likely we’ll be seeing a lot more from B-Lovee in the future.
