Detroit’s rising star, Babyface Ray releases the video for the much anticipated remix of his breakout hit, “Paperwork Party” - with an unexpected yet surprisingly good feature from budding superstar, Jack Harlow.

Babyface Ray’s slick talking, lazy Detroit flow is on full display on “Paperwork Party”. The bass-heavy, unmistakably Detroit sounding track that really set the stage to launch Ray into the national spotlight in 2020 gets the remix we didn’t know we needed - but are extremely happy we got.

The smooth brass-led instrumental, the heavy asymmetrical Detroit bass, and Ray’s cool, confident flow on the “Paperwork Party” Remix is so infectious that he even has the straight-laced Jack Harlow running scams. Generation Now’s golden boy Jack Harlow might not have been your first guess to pair with one of Detroit’s slimiest - but the Louisville native’s unorthodox, groovy flow and clever pen walking over the bassy production proved to be the perfect complement.

Babyface Ray has been putting in work for years building a name independently in Detroit. In 2019, the momentum really began to pick up around the release of his project ‘MIA Season 2’ - with notable tracks like “I Got Use To This” “Free Spazzo” and “Hall of Fame” feat. Sam & Veeze - each cracking 1M on Youtube. This was quickly followed up in early 2020 with a 4-track EP titled ‘For You’ containing the soon to be smash hit, “Paperwork Party”. Today, the original “Paperwork Party” has over 2M Spotify streams and an astounding 4.2M views on the audio only Youtube video.

In 2021, Babyface Ray is unstoppable. In February he dropped the appropriately ‘Unfuckwitable’ - a 7-track EP with multiple scorching hot records including “Like Daisy Lane” “Real ***** Don’t Rap” and the project’s lead single, “If You Know You Know” feat. Moneybagg Yo - all of which have gone on to become hits in their own right (each with over 4M views on Youtube). Not to mention dope features from EST Gee and Kash Doll.

Doubling down on the project’s success, in May he dropped the ‘Unfuckwitable’ Deluxe - containing a whole nother 7 tracks like “A Million Cash Race”, “Addy” and “Change my #”. The Deluxe also came with a new set of star-studded Michigan-heavy features including “Touchdown” feat Peezy & Murda Beatz as well as “Gallery Dept.” feat Veeze - the video for which cleared 1M views on Youtube in just 3 weeks.

The name and logo of Ray’s Wavy Gang is no coincidence. Between his unique, confident take on the Michigan/Detroit sound, his strong ties to the local scene, and the absolutely huge numbers he’s putting up - and now with big features from national names like Jack Harlow - Babyface Ray is making a strong case as one of the frontrunners of the undeniable Detroit wave happening right now.
