On Monday, the motor city legend, Babyface Ray unleashed “Sincerely Face” - a killer new single flaunting his addicting, unorthodox style ahead of his highly anticipated new project, ‘Face’ set to drop on Friday, January 28th.
“Sincerely Face” is peak Babyface Ray, his barely awake delivery and perfectly onbeat-offbeat flow on full display as he absolutely walks over the unusual and intoxicating piano-led beat produced by FleaDiamonds, a talented and quietly ascending producer with his own unorthodox style to match Face’s. As much as it seems like his understated flow would clash with the heavy, repetitive piano notes, as always, Ray manages to find the perfect pocket to get off his pointed bars - painting gritty pictures of what it’s like to come out on the other side of a risky come up.
The video for “Sincerely Face” originally surfaced as an IG snippet back in December, and ever since the hype for the new album has been on full tilt - racking up over 850K views and 134K likes on his page alone. In the run-and-gun video directed by Fastlife Productions, we see Babyface Ray sliding around town in a pair of black-and-white Range Rovers, posting up at various locations around what appears to be Cleveland.
If “Sincerely Face” and last week’s “Dancing With the Devil” feat. Pusha T & Landstrip Chip are any hint at what’s to come, ‘Face’ is already gearing up to be one of the hottest releases of the year.
