Dusty Locane- “Rolando”(Caught In The Rain)

by Yasmeen Brown on January 13, 2021

Straight out of Canarsie, Brooklyn Dusty Locane is shaking things up. He’s been going viral for fans saying he sounds similar to the late Pop Smoke. Dusty Locane dropped a video to his newest song “Rolando”(Caught In The Rain). The record begins with a sample and the beat has an interesting drill/rnb type sound. It's not a typical drill beat. It’s slower compared to beats used by other NYC drill artists such as Bizzy Banks or Fivio Foreign. In this song Dusty talks highly of himself, lyrics such as “I got a safer route, I'm tryna make it out, won’t do this shit for clout come get with me, come get with me” suggest that he’s not trying to be like the other guys doing things for attention. Dusty wants to make it out of where he’s from and in a sense be some sort of leader. While doing some very light flexing, he solidifies himself as a man who seems to understand that with great attention does come influence. The song is in a lot of ways motivational. He says “I can see everything I need, I just gotta grab and reach”. Overall, the song caters to everything you would want to hear in a drill song and it’s at 1.4 million views on Youtube. If you're a fan of drill music check out “Rolando”(Caught In The Rain) by Dusty Locane.
