Fivio Foreign continues to exceed expectations, once again proving that he is the right man for the job when it comes to elevating the Brooklyn drill sound with his new single, “Squeeze” - again successfully combining the gritty, high-energy Brooklyn drill sound with dense, unexpectedly insightful bars.
Already Trending on YouTube with over 2M views, the crystal-clear visual for “Squeeze” (directed by the now legendary Brooklyn drill videographer, JLShotThat) reads likes a day in the life of Fivio - from the gas station to the star-studded studio, to the equally star-studded stage at Madison Square Garden - all while decked out in the latest designer drip.
The general consensus seems to be that ever since his standout appearance on Kanye’s ‘DONDA’, Fivio has been getting better and better with each new release. He is managing to preserve the magical qualities and Fivio-isms that everyone originally fell in love with on songs like “Big Drip” and “Wetty”, while consistently and successfully elevating his style with more lyrical songs and higher concepts. With songs like “Story Time” and “Off the Grid”, we hear that same fiery energy and magnetic personality - but we also hear thoughtful lyrics, fully-baked messages, and just in general, more bars than we have come to expect from the notoriously short-spoken drill icon. He has also continued to explore interesting, polished production - leaning more-than-most back into that UK-style, AXL-type drill sound that sparked the Brooklyn drill wave in the first place.
It’s probably safe to say that Fivio has elevated far beyond where many once expected, and really is showing no signs of slowing down. He feels focused, looks great, and the music is sounding better than ever. With the successful release of “Squeeze” - following the French Montana collab “Panicking” and the hugely popular “Not In The Mood” with Lil Tjay and Kay Flock (cracking the Billboard Hot 100 and racking up 9.1M views in just one month) - all eyes are on Fivio to see what the face of Brooklyn drill has up his sleeve next.
