On Friday, Jackboy continued his recent streak of successful drops with the release of the video for “What’s Mine Is Yours” featuring the un-gettable Money Man off his latest project, ‘Jackboy 2’. In its first 24h hours, the video is already approaching 500K views and Trending #7 on YouTube - thanks in part to its eyebrow-raising thumbnail prominently featuring the decidedly controversial Asian Doll.
“What’s Mine Is Yours” is built around a catchy guitar loop and clean production by platinum producers SephGotTheWaves and SickDrumz - clearing the way for Jackboy’s signature nasal vocal dripping with that Broward County swag to deliver straightforward bars about how generous he can be with people who truly have his best interest at heart (and how non-generous he can be for those who don’t). Additionally, Jackboy must have some kind of secret dark web connections to land the elusive Money Man for both the song and video - delivering a top-quality Money Man verse like a true professional despite just releasing his own highly well-received project, ‘Blockchain’ last month.
The centerpiece of the music video for “What’s Mine Is Yours” is a trip to the Texas State Fair - where we see Jackboy walking through the crowd and playing carnival games donning full ice while on what appears to be a full blown date with Asian Doll.
Since dropping ‘Jackboy 2’ in August, Jackboy has been on a tear - releasing the visuals for popular tracks like “Never Sell My Soul”, “Money Don’t Make You Real”, and “Where I’m From” - the latter of which shows Jackboytravelling to his family’s home country of Haiti to help contribute to the rebuilding efforts and has been viewed over 4.4M times. In November, he followed up with a new single “Don’t Force My Hand”, which is already approaching 5M on YouTube - largely on account of its relationship to the ongoing feud with childhood friend and former colleague, Kodak Black.
Overall, “What’s Mine is Yours” is a solid track to continue Jackboy’s upward trajectory - and between the Money Man feature and the Asian Doll cameo it is sure to draw some attention over the weekend. Hopefully, Jackboy and Kodak are able to overcome their differences - and if not, then hopefully they are able to continue to channel their disagreements into positives like great new music and massive numbers for their new releases.
