Earlier this month Highbridge The Label’s newest addition, Lil Rekk, dropped the video for “So So Dangerous” featuring fellow rising stars from the Northeast, Stunna Gambino and YXNG K.A - an early standout off his debut project, World Plus which dropped Jan 29th.

“So So Dangerous” sounds like a hit from the first bar. Between Rekk’s captivating melodic vocal, incredibly catchy hook, and perfectly placed features - not to mention the obvious high-quality production and attention to detail that went into both the song and visual - is sure to leave many listeners wondering how this is the first time they’ve heard of Lil Rekk

The video, directed by Jenzar Films, features the young star dripped down in designer and surrounded by female accomplices and menacing greyhounds in a variety of dimly lit, gritty locations - from the warehouse to the Wraith in the back alley to getting his mugshot taken. The production value of the video is certainly impressive for Rekk’s fourth music video ever - third since making a splash and really properly announcing his arrival on the scene with “Manhattan Vibes” only a few months ago in November, 2020.

“So So Dangerous” is a hugely catchy track and the perfect early hit for Lil Rekk, bringing together three of the most promising young stars from the New York metro area (if we’re including Philly) - all of whom are finding success by crafting their own versions of the ‘street melody’ sound made popular by artists like Lil Durk, Roddy Ricch, and of course Lil Rekk’s labelmate A Boogie wit da Hoodie - making them the perfect choice for the song.

Stunna Gambino out of Washington Heights, NY was making big noise all through 2020 with tracks like “Demons” and “Rockstar From The Trenches” - and brings his signature style to “So So Dangerous” with a dope verse. YXNG K.A is a young, 17-year-old artist out of Philadelphia who came out of absolutely nowhere in 2020 with the smash hit, “It Is What It Is” and hasn’t let off the gas since. He lets us know just how fast his climb was on “So So Dangerous” with the line “Started rapping, Ran into a deal the same year” - referencing his signing to Interscope last summer.

All in all, “So So Dangerous” is an excellent early outing from Highbridge’s blossoming new star, and an early standout from his impressive debut project, World Plus. Moving forward, Lil Rekk shows no signs of slowing down in 2021, already announcing a new video for his track “Drive Me Crazy” coming soon. Definitely keep your eye on Lil Rekk this year, as it feels like this is just the beginning for this talented young artist.
