Baby Money “Who Not Turnt?” feat. 42 Dugg & Tay B

by Aidan C Werder on February 09, 2022

Somehow Detroit has produced yet another star in Baby Money - joined by fellow emerging motor city legends 42 Dugg and Tay B on “Who Not Turnt?” for one of the lead singles off his new project and QC label debut, Easy Moneyreleased Feb. 4th.

Everything about “Who Not Turnt?” screams Detroit, from its gritty feel to its instantly recognizable regional production. 42 Dugg opens the track with his signature whistle entrance and newly iconic, raspy vocal to lay down a killer hook - half asking and half threatening: “Who not turnt?” Next comes Tay B - fresh off a big collab with Lil Baby on his single “Rich All My Life - contrasting Dugg with his smooth bars and riding the line between gangster and player the way that rappers from the D do best. Finally, Baby Money enters to bat cleanup, stating his case as the next up with the catchy line: “Who not turnt? I was ballin before they came, they know who got first”.

The crisp visual for “Who Not Turnt?” (directed by the prolific Jerry Productions) features the Detroit trio and each of their impressive jewelry collections, a gang of luxury whips including the two-tone Maybach you can see Baby Money back-seating around town, and a super effective use of that classic silhouette effect.

If the question is “Who not turnt?”, the answer definitely isn’t Baby Money. Over the last year, Baby Money has quietly been building his case as the next up out of Detroit with songs like “Big Money”, “Fear Money” and his biggest song to date “Moncler Bubble” - the remix for which features two more legends from the motor city, Babyface Ray and Peezy, and dropped earlier this month to set the tone for the new project, Easy Money. Under the quiet guidance of behind-the-scenes mastermind, Wayno, Baby Money is quickly transforming into the midwest’s next rising star.
