Peter $un Releases Deluxe Version To His Album Scumbaby

by Noah Soria on November 03, 2021

Representing Richmond, VA is Peter $un. The indie hip-hop artist released the deluxe version of his breakout album Scumbaby this past Friday. Dropping on the one-year anniversary of its initial release, it marks the first release under Red Bull Records, which Peter $un just signed to as the latest addition to the rising roster. The deluxe version includes three new tracks including a remix of “Wylin’” by Katori Walker and the single “No Bad Days.”

The term “scumbaby” refers to the duality of humanity, and the project looks to reflect on both the good and the bad. A juxtaposition of the ugly thoughts and feelings we often face versus the innocence and appeal of freedom and creativity, the album serves as a quintessential showcase of Peter $un’s own journey of identity.

Exemplifying the dark horse mindset through limitless self-articulation in music and workmanship, Peter $un's motivation ranges from the dirty provincial styles of Pusha T and Clipse to melodic, soul-driven craftsmen like D'Angelo, Pharrell, and The Neptunes. His music and own ethos are accepting one's defects chasing truth and joy. Some of his standout tracks from Peter $un’s young career include breakout singles “Work,” “Sometimes,” and “Ammo” with Childish Major. Scumbaby is out now on all streaming platforms.
