Pouya has been an underground king in South Florida’s rap scene since the height of the SoundCloud era. After releasing his latest full-length album Blood Was Never Thick As Water which dropped back in October of 2021, to go along with two singles “Wig Split" ft. Denzel Curry and "One Deep In the Fleetwood”, the Miami native is back with new music.
Pouya announced he will be releasing a new mixtape, dirt/hurt/pain/, which is slated to release this Friday, February 11. To go along with the project’s announcement, Pouya also released the lead single, “Never Enough” which features frequent collaborator and fellow Florida native, Lu baby. The duo exchange verses over the choir-led beat, which was produced by Mikey the Magician. Pouya raps first, with his articulate flow, and touching base on fighting with his psychological wellness. On Lu Baby’s verse, he takes the time to slow it down on the second half of the track with a layered, soulful performance, giving the track premiere balance.
With a solid lead-single, anticipation will build up for Pouya’s upcoming project, and rightfully so. “Never Enough” is out now on all streaming platforms, and dirt/hurt/pain/ will be out this Friday.
