Shawny Binladen “Whole Lotta Wickery” feat. Bizzy Banks

Shawny Binladen enlists his signature understated vocal style alongside labelmate Bizzy Banks for “Whole Lotta Wickery” - off his recent project Merry Wickmas, which dropped this past December.

The “Whole Lotta Wickery” music video directed by Haitian Picasso premiered on Wednesday this week exclusively on WorldStar, featuring the two young drill artists roaming the streets of Midtown Manhattan, appropriately draped in full ice.

The track samples an unexpected melody from a soft melodic vocal that makes for a really interesting contrast with Shawny Binladen’s raspy, almost whispered flow and aggressive gritty bars that take on an extra captivating quality when combined with the quiet, sing-song melody in the production. The young artist from Queens brings a distinct style to the normally loud and over the top genre, bringing the same energy and raw subject matter with a quiet, controlled tone that only adds to the intensity.

‘Whole Lotta Wickery” also features a super solid verse from labelmate and rising star out of East New York, Bizzy Banks - delivering a high energy verse that somehow fits perfectly with the lullaby-melody beat.

It’s also worth noting that both Shawny and Bizzy are members of Culturvated - a powerhouse in Brooklyn drill headed by @Vokorondon, that recently became an imprint of Atlantic Records - also home to some of the biggest names in New York including 22Gz, Maxthademon, and Coach Da Ghost.

Shawny Bin Laden is proof that there is plenty of life left in Brooklyn drill, bringing a fresh approach to the genre while remaining true to the style. Check out the WSHH premiere of the music video for “Whole Lotta Wickery” feat. Bizzy Banks below - and be on the lookout for more music from Shawny Bin Laden and the Culturvated camp in 2021.
