Compton, California’s rising star YS has continued to elevate his career all of 2021, while giving his competition little to no room to breathe. Just two weeks after the release of his successful single, "Cannon", YS wastes no time, as he is back with another collaboration with platinum certified producer Helluva.
During these last couple of years, YS has proven that he’s one of the top up-and-coming artists coming out of California. The Compton native continues to prove that with his latest collaboration with Helluva. Only this time he calls on Louisville native, and one of the top new artists in the rap game, EST Gee for the single “Play 4 Keeps” with an accompanying music video.
A YS & EST Gee collaboration with Helluva on production results in an end product that’s able to mesh different sounds from the West, South, and Midwest. YS flaunts his ability to put together a catchy hook, and EST Gee delivers one of his best feature verses (there’s a lot to choose from) of 2021. The Benmarc directed music video shows YS bringing EST Gee to his world, the infamous Campanella Park apartment buildings in Compton, CA to give him a tour of his section.
YS and Helluva as a rapper-producer tandem have not let up. “Play 4 Keep” is a track that will gain buzz and anticipation for YS’ upcoming project "Realer Than Real" which is produced entirely by Helluva which is set to drop in the near future.
