Police swarmed rapper Polo G’s house on behalf of his brother Taurean, also known as “Trench Baby.” In multiple videos you can see Polo G and his brother slowly walk out the house with their hands up. Officers arrived at Polo G’s house on Wednesday afternoon with a search warrant. One by one residents in the home were escorted out by police.
Trench Baby allegedly lured the victim to his home in the 18500 block of Clydesdale Avenue in Granada Hills on Aug. 15 under the guise of making a rap video.
“The victim arrived at the suspect’s residence to film a rap video. At that time, the suspect produced a handgun with an extended magazine and demanded that the victim transfer money to an unknown account over a money transfer service,” the LAPD said. “The victim was in fear and complied. The suspect also demanded the victim empty his pockets.”
“A handgun with an extended magazine and demanded that the victim transfer money to an unknown account over a money transfer service,” police continued.
As the residents and guest were escorted out the police officers check and search the estate. Bradford Cohen, attorney for rappers Drake, YNW Melly and DMX, has said Polo G, born Taurus Bartlett, was being illegally obtained by police and that he is not a convicted criminal.
“Given that, the charges against Polo are very unusual given the timing and purported knowledge of the police. The length of time between the alleged incident and the arrest is suspect,” Cohen said in a statement to XXL. “We believe once all the facts come out it will be a very different picture than how the charges look on paper. We look forward to challenging the accusations and the vindication our client.”
Several Guns were found at the scene of rapper Polo G’s home. Trench Baby was taken into custody with several others. His bond was set to $100,000.00. Trench Baby was later released after paying the bail amount. The Bartlett brother’s attorney spoke out about the improper justice of the LAPD.
Police say Polo G and his brother had outstanding warrants from a report filed in April.
